IThe Mt. Pleasant Community
Garden is an outreach ministry of Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren.
The goal of the garden is to glorify God by utilizing our resources
to grow community relationships as we work together to alleviate
hunger. Since its inception in 2011, the garden has donated over
80,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to the Stark County
Hunger Task Force. The garden is managed by church personnel and
maintained by community volunteers.
In addition, the garden offers 10’x20’ plots for those
who desire to garden for their personal use. The church provides
the initial tillage and access to water, while the gardeners provide
their inputs and tools. Novice gardeners may reserve one plot and
experienced gardeners may reserve multiple plots. Each plot may
be reserved with a $10 deposit which is returned at the end of the
season provided the garden rules have been observed and the garden
has not been abandoned.
For more information on volunteering in the church garden or reserving
a plot for the 2018 season, contact Julie Myers at firstname.lastname@example.org
or call the church office at 330-499-5131.
